Thoughts on Thanksgiving

As we prepare to set sail on the Mickey Boat...we here at Colton's Antics wish all of our family and friends throughout the world a Happy Thanksgiving! Hope your day of feasting and family is warm and memorable.

Stand up, on this Thanksgiving Day, stand upon your feet. Believe in man. Soberly and with clear eyes, believe in your own time and place. There is not, and there never has been a better time, or a better place to live in.

-Phillips Brooks

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
-John Fitzgerald Kennedy

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
-Thornton Wilder

We give thanks for unknown blessings already on their way.

Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart.
-Seneca

For, after all, put it as we may to ourselves, we are all of us from birth to death guests at a table which we did not spread. The sun, the earth, love, friends, our very breath are parts of the banquet....

Silly After Dinner

Dad took some photos of Mom and I after dinner. We were being very silly!

Sunnies for the Mickey Boat

I am soooo excited for the "Mickey Boat".

I found my sunglasses the other day and I told Mom I am ready to go.

Fall Day at the Park

On Sunday morning Mom and I went to the park while Dad installed the new bathroom floor. At the "bumpy slide" park, to go from the parking lot to the playground area, you have to walk on a boardwalk "bridge" through a marsh.

This is one of Mom's favorite parts of the park. We always see such interesting things in the marsh.

Sunday was beautiful and we saw some berries and some purple thistles.

My favorite part of this park is the bumpy slide of course, but on Saturday the bumpy slide was wet because we went to the park early in the morning.

So I had to settle for the "spinning round n round" thing. Mom doesn't know what the name of this thing is, they didn't have them when she was a little girl. Basically it is just a circle on an angle that you can push. Sort of like a merry-go-round I guess. I like to sit on it and have Mom push me around, but not too fast!
Check out my long hair! I have an appointment for a haircut Tuesday after Dad's done working. Just a trim, but I told Mom I don't like my hair so long in the back because it's like a girl and she said that Cookie would trim it so it's not so long in the back. Mom told me that Nani will be sad if we cut it too short and that everyone likes it long, so we are only going to ask Cookie to cut just a little bit.

Get Out and Vote!

Seriously people, what are you waiting for?? Get out and vote!

Unless you are considering voting for that stiff old guy and that lady who winks all the time....
If you are considering marking the box next to their names...then we here at Colton's Antics recommend that you JUST STAY HOME.

Halloween Night

Joe, Kelly, and Addy came over to our house on Halloween night to go trick-or-treating with us. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself...and then we had to stop and take photos before they would take us out to collect candy.
Mom and Dad only let me have one piece of candy AFTER I ate my dinner. All that work for one piece of candy?!! Hey, now that we're talking about candy...I wonder what happened to my trick or treat bag?? Has anyone seen it lately? I haven't seen it since Friday night?
If you happen to know where it is, can you give me a call?

Election 2008

In case you've been living in a cave of some sort...we are on the verge of one very historic election. Guess who we are voting for at our house?

Mom Face

I have Mom's smile.

But I also have Mom's serious face too.

Costume Photo Shoot

Mom wanted to get some photos of me in my costume in the daylight so that we could send them to all of my grandmas and grandpas. I was in one of my "moods"...so the following photos are the results of much bribery and frustration.

Some of you may be wondering: is that a dinosaur or a dragon?
Let me make something quite clear: I am a dino. Dragons have wings and make fire...don't you know?
