My Birthday Party

Thank you thank you thank you -

to all of our friends that came to my birthday party on Saturday!

We all had such a great time and we hope you did too.

I'm really sorry I didn't have time to open my presents at the party.

I was sooooo excited when I opened them this morning (Sunday) - I said a lot of "yeay" and did some clapping and running to my kitchen to put things away

and "open, open" - for all of those toys with the metals twisty things locking them into their cardboard containers...

with the help of Dad and Grandpa Dean I got everything out of its box and thoroughly played with by the time I finally went down for nap completely exhausted at noon.

I am such a lucky boy to have so many great friends!

Mom and Dad apparently need more practice at this birthday party thing because neither one of them took enough photos during the party and they brought the video camera but never used it...uuugh can you believe it??



I think everyone who attended the party will agree that the slide was my favorite part.
A conservative estimate: I went down that slide 35 times. Multiple time with multiple people....Mom, Dad, Grandpa Dean, Ungle Ryan, Auntie Renee, Chelsea, Jen, Nino, and I even went down it a couple of times all by myself. After all, I'm 2 now...so I can.

here's a photo of my Sponge Bob cake before we took it to the party...we got the cake from Costco, but mom knew I would luuuuuuv a Sponge Bob cake so she decorated it herself. It turned out pretty cool huh?!

Makin' Birthday Breakfast

I got a kitchen for my birthday and it was a big hit! I had to make Mom and Dad cereal for breakfast as soon as we got up. Thankfully Dad assembled my kitchen the night before because it was a much more involved project then he (or Mom) had anticipated.

Oh yeah, and there's that hat again.

Olives and Fruit Leather

We brought black olives and fruit leather to daycare for my birthday because these are two of my favorite things to eat these days...

Anyway, Sandy thought this was great and she even put a candle in one of the olives so everyone could sing Happy Birthday to me and I got to blow out the candle....we had a lot of fun!!

Mom and Dad got me this cool bowling shirt for my birthday.

Everyone loved it. Even the lady that embroidered my name. She asked Dad to show her a photo of me when he went to pick up the shirt.

When Mom told me this was my birthday shirt, I had to wear it right away - but Mom made me take it off again before dinner...

We've been talking about my birthday a lot lately.

We've been practicing how to say "I'm 2" and show 2 little fingers like a peace sign.

I've been talking and talking and talking like crazy. Mom and Dad can't believe it. I have been remembering things that have happened and talking about them, and repeating all kinds of words that Mom and Dad don't think I'm listening to. . .I can be super silly and make lots of funny faces, and then the next moment I'm cranky and acting like a 2 yr old. . .so I guess it all makes sense.

When we got home from Vancouver, where we visited Grandma Alice (I was quite entertaining the entire time) - we realized that my Halloween costume had arrived while we were gone. We have been talking about it for a week now. . .so I was very excited to try it on, right away.

A Day at the Fair

When you go to the fair, you have to dress appropriately. . .you just never know. . .

I couldn't wait to see what this fair thing was all about. . .

I ate my first official fair corndog. "Good" - I like the word "good". Just about everything is "good" these days.

I rode on some rides. . .the big slide was really fun. . .but Cassie didn't think so!

I've been having lots of fun outside this summer. I love being outside on the deck and in the yard with Avery. I don't like to sit still for photos at all right now.

I really liked sitting on the steps at the beach house. I would bring my snacks outside with me and sit on the steps to eat them.

I noticed that Mom was taking photos of me with the camera so I had to get up and investigate.
